Mary Ryan started her journey in alternative health after the birth of her first child. Her daughter required major surgery to correct an abdominal disorder two hours after she was born. Mary's mother Pat was a Registered Dietitian. She started researching her nutrition books to set up a program of that diet and nutrition would support healthy pregnancy and other life challenges. Mary started working in alternative health with her family's natural food store, Pat's Health Corner, in Grandville, MI in 1981. In 1989 she became a Certified Nutritionist after completing studies at the National Institute of Nutrition Education.

Mary has worked and studied in Colorado, Illinois and Michigan. She has shared her knowledge by leading nutrition classes at Adult Education programs. She has been a speaker for health support groups, PTO’s, and service clubs. Mary has presented nutrition seminars in Texas, California, Indiana, Nevada, Illinois and Michigan.

Providing one on one personal nutrition education is the most satisfying part of Mary’s work in the natural health arena.
